Keeping strings in proper position can be a challenge. As the ball makes contact with the string bed, the main strings move to impart spin on the ball. The harder you hit, the more movement occurs. Moving them back into the correct alignment is advised since the sweet spot can shift with the misalignment. If not corrected after each point, racquet performance can suffer and after a while, it becomes more difficult to get the strings back in line. Nearly six years ago, the people at Prince and Gore decided to join forces to create a new string to reduce this problem while addressing some nagging issues, which surfaced with the popularity of polyester strings. Polyester has been around for many years gaining in popularity over the past three years. Polyester has some positive features; great durability, increased spin, and a firm feel. There are also problems: quick loss of tension and the biggie, tremendous shock, that can cause severe arm problems. Hybridding polyester with other softer strings helps but the alignment problem persists.
Incorporating Gore’s patented MicroWeb technology , an ultra low friction surface, and an advanced thermoplastic core and high tenacity filaments, a new string was created that virtually eliminates string misalignment, increases durability, is low impact(arm friendly), but with a firm feel.
